The most recent NIST publications have replaced the term Certification and Accreditation (C&A) by incorporating “security authorization” into a broader Risk Management Framework (RMF). FISMA Resource Center is an independent consulting and training organization established to assist federal agencies and their supporting contractors in understanding and implementing their information security programs in accordance with FISMA and the NIST RMF. FISMA Resource Center is a division of BAI Information Security Consultants, providers of information security consulting services and specialists in security authorization (C&A) and risk management of federal information systems. In addition to FISMA Risk Management training and consulting, we also serve the Department of Defense information assurance community with training and consulting specific to the DoD DIACAP process.
